This year's NASCAR season is being built up as one of the greatest seasons ever. The cup series is visiting new tracks, new teams joining the sport, and more! Here are my top 3 things that I'm looking at going into the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Season!

Superstar Owners
This season is seeing the rise of new teams in the cup series that are owned by superstars in their respective fields. 23XI Racing which is owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin is fielding the 23 car, which is being driven by Bubba Wallace. This car should be fast right when it hits the track for the Daytona 500. With the team being backed by Toyota and having a lot of big sponsors, funding and resources will not be a problem. The team also has a race-winning crew chief on top of the pit box. Wallace and the 23 team are expected to win races and make the playoffs which is a lot of pressure for a new team. This is also Wallace's first time driving a competitive car in the Cup Serie. Trackhouse Racing is owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull. Like 23XI funding for this new team is not a problem. They have major sponsors like K1 Speed, and CommScope providing them with the resources to succeed. They also are in a partnership with Richard Childress Racing to get information and cars. Look for the 99 to be contending for a playoff spot throughout the year as well!

Bristol Dirt
One of the biggest shocks to the schedule came from a track that has been on the cup schedule since 1961. Bristol, FOX, and NASCAR announced that they will be changing the Bristol spring race to a dirt race at the facility. Bristol is currently working to cover the half-mile track in the dirt for the Cup Series This even has the potential to be one of the best shows all year or one of the biggest flops of the season. With most of the drivers not having dirt experience and the cars not being made for dirt seeing how the drivers learn the track and how the cars react to the track will be interesting to watch!

Road Courses
This season will have the most road course races in the modern area of NASCAR. The Cup series will visit the traditional Road Courses they have in the past with Watkins Glen, Sonoma, and the Charlotte Roval. This year they are adding four more with Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas home to the United States GP in Formula 1, Road America, Daytona Road Course, and are changing the Brickyard 400 to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. These changes will suit some drivers like Chase Elliott better than others. This will also allow more drivers who are road course specialists to join for one-off races and have a great chance to win! It will be interesting to see how all of the tracks race with stock cars!
